Hola everyone, there wasn't really like a defining moment of the week this week, so here's all the lit moments:
-Almost every time that we've had a meal with a member, they've like backed out last minute, so we've had to cook every lunch this past wee,k except one, and I'm actually learning how to cook final,y and the meals we've been making have been absolutely fire
-I saw the stars for the first time since leaving the states and it was so fricken lit
-I started running every morning with my comp and he was so hyped at first, but the hype has died down, so we'll see how much longer we'll be able to go
-The peanut butter is not awful here so I'm chilling
-I'm still not understanding a ton of Spanish, but my progress has been hopeful
-Mate (mah-tay) is not it right now

OK so from the one real Argentine meal that I've had and from what I've heard the food here doesn't have a ton of spices but the lunches that we've been making everyday have been so fricken fire. Elder Baldwin tried to make this sauce for some pancakes that a family made for him a while ago, but it was literally just like meat sauce. So I guess I've had two Argentine meals but I still prefer my pancakes without meat.

Oh my gosh every night at the CCM we couldn't see the stars because of how much light pollution there was and every night here in Argentina has been too smokey to see the stars until Friday night and then the last few nights ttoo and it was actually so fricken lit to see the stars again finally

I've had so many funny experiences trying to understand people speaking Spanish to me, and it's been hilarious and so frustrating trying to talk to people. I played volleyball with some of the youth in the ward and it was lit to play volleyball again but trying to play volleyball with people when I can't understand a word they're saying is so annoying, especially since I'm the only one who can't understand. It's hard to pinpoint how many words I learn in a day but I understand a little more every day, and there are times when I understand like an entire sentence, but that's pretty rare.

OK, so the drink that literally everyone drinks here is called mate and it's best described as grass in a cup and you drink it. They make it with almost boiling water so it like burns your mouth when you try to drink it, which is not cool. I'm trying to have the taste grow on me and condition my mouth to the scorching hot water and the best way that I can describe how to drink it is this. So when you're eating dynamic sticks, or hot cheetos, or Takis or something spicy like that, when you eat one you have to eat another because if you just let it sit in your mouth, then your mouth gets too hot. It's the same with mate, when you take a sip, if you let the taste sit in your mouth too long then it tastes way to bitter so you gotta take another sip or it gets too bitter. I'm gonna try to get to the point where I like it so we'll see how long that takes.

Spiritual thought:
In a talk that I listened to this week by Russell M. Nelson he talked a little about the work at hand on the earth today. He said "True disciples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand out, speak up, and be different from the people of the world. They are undaunted, devoted, and courageous." This is so true and when I heard it it reminded me of where I'm at in the Book of Mormon right now. I'm reading in Alma about the sons of Mosiah and their missions. I had just read Alma 20:17-18 and I encourage you guys to read it and think about how much courage it takes to stand up to the king of all the land and just tell him no.

That's all I got for this week so I'll talk to y'all next week. Email me y'all! Let me know how life's going because it feels like I've been gone for forever. Anyway peace out y'all and I'll talk to y'all next Monday
