Week 16

 Week 16 - November 25, 2025

Yoo, what's going on everyone? Hopefully, y'all had a great week, here are some of the highlights of mine:

-We found some super sick people which is awesome

-I finally went on divisions with someone who didn't speak any English, so I had my first real day of solo español 

-We put up Christmas lights

-We had a 'spicy' treat

It's been getting a little easier every week to understand Spanish, which makes doing lessons that much easier. It's so hard to judge improvement because it never happens all at once, and it comes in waves like I'll understand that sentence but then not that one. Oh then I understood 2 sentences in a row, then I didn't understand 3. It's lit. The day of divisions helped a lot I think

We found a lot of super cool people who have a lot of potential this week. One super funny (not so) quick story about someone we found. So we're walking along and this dude stops us and is like, hey you guys spread the word of Christ, right? You see that guy sitting down over there, you should go teach him. And we were like ok sweet. So we go over to this dude that looks homeless and he's smoking so we start talking to him, and turns out he's a member , then while we're talking to him this dude that looks like he's about our age just shows up and starts asking us questions about the church. So I start talking to him in my very broken Spanish and give him a Book of Mormon and I invite him to read the introduction, and he's like, that's it. I'm like yeah just read that and then we can come back and talk about it. And he was like, bro give me two days and I'll read this whole book. And we were like bro what, bet. Then we talked for a second, we said that we had to go because we were about to be late for one of our ward activities and he was like, bro can I come to this activity? And we were like, holy crap this dudes awesome. So he comes with us to the activity and it goes fine but we found some stuff out that is gonna make it a little harder for him to progress while talking to him. We went by the next night, and he came out smoking, and I was like nooo, also it turned out that he was 14 and not my age. And he's got some other problems that he told Elder Baldwin that just make things complicated. Then when we asked him how his reading was going, he said that he hadn't read any of it yet. I believe tho, he's got this.

We bought some Christmas lights and have obtained the Christmas music so I am officially in the Christmas spirit. It's really weird singing along to songs like 'Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful,' like yeah the weather outside is frightful because it's fricken 100 degrees out some days. It's so weird being excited for Christmas when it's this hot out.

We saw one of our friends walking and he offered us some of his 'super spicy' chips that he had just bought and he gave us a piece and we ate them, and he was like looking for our reactions, and they actually had like no spice at all. So when we had no reaction he was super surprised. I want to find some dynamic sticks or something because they told us the thing they gave us was like the spiciest thing they've had.
