Week 13

 Week 13  November 4, 2024

I can never figure out how to start these. Here's the highlights:

-Halloween was lit

-I figured out that I guess I have no idea some of the rules in soccer, also soccer is so lit

-I'm gonna write something right here so that it looks like I have more highlights than I do

-Whenever a member asks where I'm from and I say the states, they always say, Utah?, and I'm like yeah, then they laugh and say, ahh la fábrica (factory). It was almost funny the first time but it's mostly just annoying now😂.

On Halloween me and my comp decided that it would be so lit to give candy to everyone, so we bought some at the store and gave it to all the kids that we saw. It was actually the funnest thing ever. We would see them and say 'quiere dulce' like do you want candy (or sweets is the direct translation) and they'd be like huh, then we'd give them some and they'd get so excited. And we kept telling everyone Feliz Halloween and it was lit. We also made an edit for the day, which turned out so funny, I put it on the Google photos if you want to watch it. 

So for one of the activities last week, we played soccer and it was actually crazy how good some of those kids are. Then all the older dudes are insane too. Like I got an older dude on my team and was like ah man we got the old dude, then nah, the old dudes cracked and I'm the biggest liability on our team. They kept telling me to do stuff and I just had no idea what they were saying so they just put me at goalie and I did good there so it turned out all right. My new goal now is to be cracked at soccer tho so that I can actually play with them. Like I felt like I was decent at it and new the rules pretty good, but man there was a few times where I had no idea why they just stopped playing and put the ball somewhere. It also doesn't help that I had no idea what they were saying but it's alright, we'll get there eventually, hopefully 

Spanish update:

This is how my mom explained it and I feel like it explains how I feel so well. I feel like I'm listening to the radio when I hear Spanish, sometimes it's just fuzzy and I can't hear anything, sometimes it's clear and I can hear it just fine. And sometimes it keeps cutting in and out so I have no idea what they're saying. 

Spiritual thought:

I was reading in Alma 48 and holy cow Moroni is such a cool dude. He's quite literally the coolest dude ever. In verse 17 it says '...if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.' Oh my gosh if there was ever a role model to have, it's Captain Moroni. 

All right, that's all I got for this week, like Elder Sorensen said in his email, Halloween is over, which means that tis the season so I'm announcing my commitment to the Christmas spirit right now and would encourage you all to do the same. Peace ✌️
